Love of the JAPAN

21 03 2009

For all of you that have been bitten by the Japanese luv bug, this is a great site I would like to share with you.

http://www.japan-architects.com

I do Love the TADAO, the SANAA, the KENGO KUMA , the SHIGERU BAN, the  JUN AOKI… but this site gives you the down-low on smaller firms and projects in Japan.

It  is an ideal site, when searching for other projects in other countries (China, Italy, Germany , Australia  and the list goes on)

For all of you dreaming of travelling and working( comme moi), it is a great way to explore the local firms.

Michael A Robinson

19 03 2009

I think the best way to begin my first blog entry is to share my favorite artist of the hour: Michael A Robinson, a Montreal contemporary artist.

Having the pleasure of meeting him at his atelier at the Darling Foundry ,I have been given an insight to his method of thought and process. His latest exhibition is another triumph.

Architecture has been my practice but Art has been my inspiration. Personally,Michael seems to bridge between the two. His comprehension of connections and use of objects and materials, of  composition and of structure makes me often call his work ” Architectural Objects”
